Stewardship
The Quincy Farmers Market (QFM) is a woman-owned and operated business fostering intercultural connections with our community since 1982. Founded by a Finnish Emigrant, continued by a retired Special Needs School Teacher and volunteers. It is run with the discipline of business as a model of efficiency for our startups yet an eye to the impact of philanthropy as a service to the community and small, family-owned farms and businesses who are our vendors and friends.
QFM is a placemaking initiative stewarded, on a break-even basis, as an urban-rural partnership, small-business incubator, and venue for artisanry, test-marketing, and social network formation in the regional agriculture and cottage industries.
